IAML is comprised of four psychologists in independent practice in San Antonio. We are diverse in many ways, but united in our desire to help you access useful information about ways you and your loved ones can lead more grounded and fulfilling lives. Our knowledge comes from current research, the stories shared with us during therapy, as well as traditional wisdom. No matter where you are on your personal life journey, we hope to share what we have learned to support you in living the life you truly want.

Dr. Cynthia Díaz de León is a psychologist with more than thirty years of experience providing clinical services in English and Spanish, and her patients range in age from three to eighty five.  Her areas of specialty include working with children and adolescents and their families, as well as providing psychological and psychoeducational evaluation for children and adults.  Dr. Díaz de León also has a particular interest and training in the areas of cultural diversity and gender issues.  She has served as a consultant for a number of agencies including Casey Family Program, ChildSafe, Boystown and Juvenile Probation.

Dr. Díaz de León obtained her BA from Austin College, her MA from Trinity University and her PhD from The University of Texas at Austin.  Her postdoctoral internship was completed at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine.

Dr. Tova Rubin is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 9 years of experience working with individuals and couples. She has worked in a variety of settings including public and private Psychiatric Hospitals, Community mental health facilities-both inpatient and outpatient, University Counseling Services, as well as Emergency Room service.

After serving the San Antonio community for over a decade, she moved to the Washington DC area in 2015 and opened a psychotherapy practice. She also serves as clinical faculty at George Washington University. Dr. Rubin is a hospice volunteer and an expert in the emerging field of Positive Psychology. She is regularly invited to give workshops and talks about positive psychology and mindfulness.

Dr. Poonam Sharma is a licensed psychologist in private practice in San Antonio, Texas. She is also the author of the award-winning book, Strong Women, Strong Love: The Missing Manual for the Modern Marriage. In her clinical practice, Dr. Sharma provides psychotherapy for individuals and couples, and specializes in working with people dealing with health issues, such as infertility, traumatic injury, and stress. She is a Certified Telemental Health Practitioner through the Telemental Health Institute.

Dr. Sharma earned her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from The University of Texas at Austin in 1994. She has served on the faculty of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio for several years in the Departments of Rehabilitation Medicine, Psychiatry, and Comprehensive Dentistry.  She was President of the Bexar County Psychological Association in 2000-2001. She is credentialed as a Health Service Provider through the National Register and is a member of various professional associations, including the American Psychological Association and American Society for Reproductive Medicine. She is a board member of the Coalition for Technology in Behavioral Science.

Dr. Kozue Shibazaki is a psychologist currently in private practice in San Antonio. She is former Director of the Counseling Service of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Shibazaki received her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1994, and her doctorate from Texas Tech University in 1999, with further training at Arizona State University and The University of Texas Health Science Center.  She provides psychotherapy to individuals and couples.
